Lisa

Lisa started vocal training at the age of 14 years, successfully gaining a place at Guildhall School of Music and Drama as a junior student. At the age of 16 she then progressed on to lessons in Opera and Musical Theatre, attending consultations with Mary Hammond and Maureen Scott both tutors at the Royal Academy. At the same time she studied street dance at Danceworks London for three years. Continuing her vocal training in contemporary music, Lisa was then coached by David and Carrie Grant for 4 years before being asked to become part of their vocal coaching team.

Lisa’s background enables her to teach a variety of musical styles, including Jazz, R & B, Musical Theatre, contemporary pop and more recently hip hop/rap.

Lisa has been working as a vocal coach, both private one on one training and in group sessions, for the last 4 years. In that time she has built up a student base of over 50 clients in both Milton Keynes and London. Her client base not only covers all ages from 8 to 50 but also encompasses students of all abilities, some looking for a career in the music industry, those who just want to improve and people with self-esteem and confidence issues. Lisa runs her own showcases 4 times a year for her students enabling them to showcase their own material and achieve personal goals.
Lisa Currently works in partnership with Fitdog studio’s in Northampton providing one on one vocal production, which includes working on delivery and technique to enable singers to get the best out of their recordings.
Lisa also runs regular joint vocal technique and studio recording workshops with fitdog for beginners and professional vocalists.

Lisa is experienced in working in group sessions, ranging in size from 5-30 students per class.
Lisa continues to pursue her own musical ambitions and is currently writing and recording her own material. Lisa has worked as a backing vocalist for a number of recording artists including, Will Young, Mica Paris and Madonna (at Live8). Lisa has also worked closely in the past recording and writing original material with Mike Dixon (musical supervisor of We Will Rock you and Musical Director of T4’s Musicool) and Joshua Alamu (danceX and Musicool)
